Abstract:

Actility is an innovative technology player in the field of energy demand-side management services and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.

Actility’s ThingPark Wireless IoT network uses the LoRa technology from Semtech to connect sensors and devices to the internet by using the unlicensed 868MHz ISM band.

The benefits of this LoRa-based network are the Long Range, the low cost and the low power consumption, which opens up numerous innovative solutions in the utility domain.

Examples are: the monitoring of the consumption and quality of industrial and drinking water (the Vlakwa-project), the detection of cable rupture in the distribution network, metering and submetering of electricity, water and gas. Obviously, the demand response services offered by Actility are also implemented using the LoRa-technology.
