Wireless energy transfer for medical applications

Abstract:

AnSem will present the trends in its wireless ASIC development for medical and healthcare.
A decade ago, energy transfer in these applications was limited to short range inductive coupling, transferring low data rates with limited or no encoding.
Nowadays, intelligent batteryless sensor nodes are developed that embed monitoring and alarm functions at uW power consumption. Modulation schemes are become more complex, data rates and range are increasing. Advanced sensor nodes require intelligent adaptive power management sometimes combining different energy sources. And both the digital as the analog core require fully optimized design solutions, preferably using plain CMOS technology to keep pricing down.
