Abstract:
This presentation will present the recent progress at KU Leuven ESAT-MICAS in the field of THz imaging with CMOS. A 0.55THz signal generator in 40nm CMOS with an on-chip antenna will be presented. The challenges and methodologies to design and implement the chip, as well as the challenges of performing measurements at these high frequencies will be discussed in greater detail. This chip was also used in a practical setup to obtain dielectric images from various objects, which gives an idea of the new opportunities that THz imaging has to offer.
