Abstract:

Indoor positioning applications and RTLS are predicted to become a billion dollar business. Many underlying technologies exist, such as received signal strength, angle of arrival, time (difference) of arrival, RF fingerprinting, etc. The technologies are becoming more mature and are offering different features. We will give an introduction to the basic principles used in wireless positioning technologies and discuss their inherent limitations.
