Abstract:
Option develops the CloudGate, an intelligent and configurable M2M gateway that connects devices to the internet. The gateway is intelligent because a developer can run its own programs on the CloudGate under the OpenWRT Linux environment. It is also configurable because two expansion slots (front and back) allow the developer to configure the interfacing towards the device (RS232, RS485, CAN bus, I/ etc) and configure the interfacing towards the internet (LAN, WLAN, WWAN). The presentation explains this concept in more detail and gives insights how bandwidth management can extend the addressable market to communication intensive applications such as live video streaming.
