Lode Van Halewyck obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering ICT at Ghent University. He started his career at Belgacom/Proximus, where he worked, amongst others, as Product Manager in the M2M Competence Centre. He continued his career as Smart Grid researcher at iMinds vzw. Currently he is working as M2M/IoT expert at Actility.

Abstract:
Recent technological evolutions allow the construction of a Low Power and Long Range network for Smart Sensors. This evolution will open up several new possibilities for smart home, smart city & smart building services.
Actility is the provider of a connectivity (ThingPark Wireless) and application enablement (ThingPark Cloud) solution for IoT and M2M.
