TalkingDots provides wireless low-power sensors to monitor construction environments. The sensors are capable to remotely register temperature, humidity, position, noise, vibration and movement in harsh environments. The data is sent to the TalkingDots online cloud platform. Project developers, engineers and contractors can log on to the platform to perform quality control as well as optimally plan their construction process. The sensors themselves are small (approx. 10 x 10 x 5 cm) and can be attached to a variety of surfaces as well as be placed within structures themselves. Because the sensors use low power technology, they last 5 to 10 years.

TalkingDots provides an end-to-end solution including sensors, the network infrastructure as well as a cloud platform specific to the construction environment. The hardware and software is designed inhouse and subsequently manufactured according to industry standards. Proven technologies are combined with the state-of-the-art.

What sets TalkingDots apart is the combination of (1) a deep know-how of embedded hardware and wireless technology, (2) years of expertise in developing scalable online cloud platforms (3) a clear value proposition and transparant business model.

TalkingDots is an IoT (Internet of Things) startup located in Belgium in the heart of Leuven with three co-founders: Jelle Van Gompel, Noman Ahmed and Thomas Van Durme. With their software/hardware experience in the utilities industry, telecommunications sector and aerospace, they founded TalkingDots in 2016. The ambition: to become a valued player in the IoT domain for smart buildings and construction.
