Abstract:

INTER-IoT is an interoperable open IoT framework (with associated engineering tools and methodology) for seamless integration of heterogeneous IoT platforms functioning in the same or different application domains. INTER-IoT is providing support for interoperability at different layers from device to semantics, and the support of a methodology that will determine the vast option for each IoT deployment or use case. One key contribution of INTER-IoT is the virtualizing functions of the gateway, which allows a better integration with cloud environments and support for IoT from the operators. Virtualization of Gateway functions allow integration with SDN. INTER-IoT is strong in the in the Semantic Models, providing an INTER Platforms Semantic MEdiator, not only to achieve semantic interoperability between platforms but also across domains. It will be validated with a cross domain model in the project using m-Health platforms and transportation and logistics in a port environment. INTER-IoT validation is supported for large scale piloting in different application domains, the large pilot and validation will be located in the port of Valencia with the support of Noatum Ports Container Terminal the largest terminal in the Mediterranean. We will proof the validity of INTER-IoT proposals with several IoT platforms.
